I know neither of these guys would even consider coming to pittsburgh, but this goes to show it can be done with some pieces in place to attract players. Players who can still be very productive well into their 30's. Who here wouldn't want these two guys on the Pirates. Having two players of this caliber and with this much credibility would certainly go a long way towards attracting other players via free agency to come here. They would get a chance to play with and learn from players that they most likely idolized and looked up too as a model of how to play the game. I know these two probably wouldn't give us too much more success on the field without the pitching to go along with them, but as far as a credibility standpoint, these two would create an entirely new vibe to the organization. So while we continue to throw millions at the Iwamura's and Church's look at what the Rays got for a similar dollar figure. This is why the Pirates will never win again.
