Jenifer Langosch reports that Kevin Hart isn't ready to start throwing after surgery last year to repair a torn labrum. It doesn't appear he'll be ready for Opening Day. I would have been pretty surprised if he had been ready to compete for a bullpen spot by that point anyway, but it sounds like he could easily spend a month or so on the DL once the season starts and then a few weeks on a rehab outing. It could be June or so before we hear from Hart again. Langosch also reports that before Spring Training games begin, the Pirates will decide whether Evan Meek or Joel Hanrahan will be their closer - and it will be one or the other, not some mix of both.
