Thank you.
Good look on that, can’t believe I forgot about that. Quality is very good.
Not finding a video feed,
just stupid mlb.com Lamecast.
Grrrr.

I think I like the Tabata #1 McCutchen #3 lineup.
Walker if he repeats last year can be decent in the two hole. I’m not sure he is going to do that.
If ayone
is in a generous mood, frequent updates for those of us traveling would be great!

Exactly
I know its early but 10 pitches is like not even playing haha.
Yeah, I'm on it. Thanks...

Well this looks promising
Bases loaded no outs.
Agreed.
If he gets a full season of at bats and plays nice defense we could be looking at a guy that is 3.0 WAR this year and still improving.
all depends on his hammies

Gameday with no pitch speed/movement is brutal
I know velocity doesn’t really matter at this point in the season but I’d still like to see it.
These teams
Really looking to work the count on opening day.
Of the 8 hitting positions, who are you most worried about?
For me its catcher. I think we are really going to continue to hurt until Sanchez gets here.
To me, it depends on how you look at it. Snyder will be solid behind the plate, but lacking with the stick.
To me, the biggest concern is SS with Cedeno. It really depends on which guy shows up. If it is the Cedeno that was playing well in the field and swinging a decent bat, it will be a non-concern. But if he looks like he did at the end of last year, our pitchers are going to be in some trouble.
Former
First pick Matt Bush (now a pitcher) puts down the side.
Wins – McDonald
Slugging – El Toro
Letang Clan - ain't nothin to puck with

I delevered the Post-Gazette and played Pony league with the Purkeys…..
Wins-McDonald
Slugging-Walker
Really?
That’s interesting. Bob Purkey was my uncle
I could see NFW slugging as well. I was about to pick Morton for wins but let’s not go that far. He’ll be a lot better this year though

that isn’t the point.

Biggest thing that stands out about this lineup as compared with last year
There’s way less holes in the order. I only see one, maybe two outside of the pitcher in this one. Last year there were holes all over the place.

Yeah. McCutchen not hitting leadoff is not good though. -2 to -3 wins from here.

You’d rather see
1. Cutch
2. Tabata
3. Walker?
I might agree, Walker excelled in the 3rd spot last year. And top of the order gives Cutch the most at bats so I’m fine with that.

That’s fine. I don’t mind Hurdle mixing up the lineup a bit in spring training, this is when you can experiment. But I don’t think there’s any doubt this is a considerably stronger batting order than what we had last year on Opening Day. Almost every position is stronger

Yeah don’t think he has much chance to be in the starting rotation. He’ll REALLY have to impress to make it over Morton/Olsen or even Burres and so far here…might have already been eliminated from contention.

Dunno -
If giving up a jack to Longoria is a disqualifier, I think there’ll be a lot of guys going to AAA…

If giving up a bomb to a guy like Longo is his worst moment of the spring for Lincoln, I will be looking forward to seeing what he does to start the year in AAA.
That guy can rake. Thank god we don’t see the Rays in the regular season

Definitely. We know he can, he had 33 in ‘09. I think he’ll have to, because before with Crawford hitting in front of him, there wasn’t always the need to swing for the fences because a base hit to either field is going to score CC most of the time. Maddon loves the small ball. But I think Longoria is probably a lock for 30+ this year again

I don’t know what to make of Longoria’s power, and also Braun’s steadily decreasing output.

Pretty active thread today
Either a lot of excitement or a lot of curiosity around the Pirates 2011 season.
Through five innings
Bucs pitchers have thrown 28 pitches, Rays pitchers have thrown 33.
If you are relying on MLB's Lamecast for pitch counts...
don’t bother during the exhibition season. They don’t track every pitch.
So....
Any word on the shape of Pedro? Did he shed some of that “winter fat”?
Radio guys talked about that early in the game. Said he is looking better than he did at the end of last season. Take that for what its worth. I would tend to believe them though.
At least they didn’t say he “put on muscle”….code for too many biscuits and gravy.

Haha.
He did put on some muscle this winter. It’s just that the muscle is a little fatty, that’s all.

I really hope no relation doesn't make the team
We have so many other more interesting young options which are probably better right now.
I see that Gorkys...
did a good job of killing the rally.
Steve Blass just said no one was jailed during fantasy camp this year...
…do people normally get jailed during fantasy camp?
Whatever kind Steve Blass is talking about
I’m assuming baseball.
I lol'd.
