Now that Andy Pettite has retired the Yankees need another solid starter. Maholm didn't have a great year last year but I think with some run support he might do very well with the Yanks. It is not easy to pitch for the Bucs(last in runs scored) knowing if you give up a few early runs you may have already lost. I would love to see a deal that includes Doumit leaving but the Yanks would never take him. However I would love to see Maholm go even though I think he is a quality pitcher, he does not fit in with the Pirates future because he will be due alot of money next year and I don't see the Bucs making a run at the division until 2013 . Surely the Yankees have a few players in the minors they would be willing to give up to get Maholm. What does everyone think?
