He's been pitching well for the Royals this spring
five scoreless innings in four games.
But the Royals have 13 candidates for 5 positions. While a couple of these can and should be sent to the minors, a couple of pitchers who are going to make the club--two from Tim Collins, Danny Duffy, or Blaine Hardy--have to be added to the 40-man roster, and Adcock occupies a roster slot. So, my take is that the Royals will offer Adcock back, but who knows?
I'm feeling a bit unsettled, though. The notion that the Royals have only one aging retread (Jason Kendall) and competition for roster spots is mind-blowing.
