Rendon back to third

After being limited to DH duties most of this season with a shoulder strain, Anthony Rendon returned to third base in Rice's 7-2 win against Houston on Wednesday. This should give a better opportunity to assess his recovery. He went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI. He's been walked 28 times in 116 plate appearances (while striking out 12 times).  Overall Rice is 156th in batting average (181st in slugging percentage) among NCAA Division I teams, and their second best hitter is out. So, Rendon's offensive numbers might not be all that wonderful this year. I would guess you have to think he didn't forget how to hit and focus on his defense in seeing how his ankle is.
