Clint Hurdle was interviewed during the game today and addressed some of the questions that have been asked on various threads on this site:
Roster decisions: Hurdle and Huntington have said, more than once, that "some decisions are reverseable and some aren't." The next thing he said was that both Rodriguez and Ciriaco were still in the mix. It makes me believe that if things are relatively even they may lean to keep Rodriguez, contrary to what all the beat writers have suggested, and let Ciriaco play everyday in Indianapolis.
He said Pearce was "very, very close to nailing this thing down."
Lineup: When asked about Overbay batting cleanup he said that Pedro had "worked so hard on his defense and there was so much noise about his weight in the offseason..." that he had enough on his plate and we thought we'd let Lyle bat 4th and Petey bat behind him and see where it take us. The gist being that he didn't want to put any added pressure that may come with batting cleanup on him at the start of the season.
(Immediately after that, Alvarez made an excellent play on a bunt by Brett Gardner, throwing him out by half a step.)
There was no discussion of Snyder or carrying a third catcher and John Bowker was not mentioned.
