Overall, i'm pretty happy with where the buccos are at this point, all things considering. Although the bullpen has struggled recently (some of which is probably due to exhaustion), the bucco batters aren't helping too much. Barring the first part of yesterdays game (when they tied it up), we aren't seeing them get timely hits and string bunches of hits together. After gaining the lead they went five innings without a hit. In the previous games as well, they struggled to get guys and base and (when they were on base) bring them home. As we all know, the strikeouts are certainly a main part of this struggle as well. Even in the 9th yesterday they had a chance and Pearce grounds into a double play. We only needed a single to tie it ! I think that the bullpen will be fine. And even in these instances where its been a little rocky, we still had chances. The bats dont need to explode, they just need to be awake and breathing for nine innings a game and in all in-game situations. How do you see this playing out in the future?
