Wouldn't it be nice?
Alot of people, particuarly pirates fans, are talking about the wave of prospects we might get mid-season to sept. And as always, the Altoona guys steal the show. I myself forget about players like Lambo, d'Arnaud, and Hernandez, just thinking of the impact Owens, Morris, Locke, and Wilson can bring. But then i get to thinking. If the pirates were to trade Garret Jones, wich most of you hope happens, instead of replacing him with John Bowker, who has seen his ups and downs, why not replace him with Lambo.
Andrew Lambo played terrifically when he came over and will start in AAA. He has great power and a sweet stroke to go with it. he isn't the greatest of fielders, but in right field you dont have to be. But if your going to get rid of Jones, why not get rid of Diaz too? Who would take over for Diaz if he left, though? Maybe, just maybe Hernandez rebounds and gets promoted to the big leauges.
Gorkys Hernandez is a speeedy[yes, i meant to put three e's.] and a great defender. Even if he never comes back to his old form, he still would be a great platoon partner with Lambo. Just Imagine it, A left handed power machine combined with a speedy, defensive right hander. Dont tell me thats not exciting to think about.

Hmm..
He may have a somewhat interesting point…
I mean, I’m not sure I’d dump them both, just for the hell of it.
Lambo’s a lefty, Gorky’s a righty.. if neither looks like a star, a platoon could make some sense. We could run out all sorts of options with Gorkys able to play all three OF positions. It’s particularly exciting to think that on a day when Cutch or Tabata needs a rest, we’d still get to watch a young exciting player.
I think a piece of me just died...
The glare of the spotlight is harsh, and the pressure that success breeds immense. We revere our heroes, but expect much. And criticism can come as easily as praise.
