According to Colin Dunlap of the Post-Gazette, Garrett Olson has cleared waivers and been outrighted to Indianapolis. I think the Pirates rolled the dice here and got just a little lucky. Having had the first wavier claim the first time Olson was available it was unclear if another team would be interested. Apparently not.
This is a nice benefit at little cost. Olson provides some lefty insurance as Beimel hasn't shown to be particularly durable or particularly good of late. And, Olson pitched reasonably well to start the season.
