By The Numbers

Just some numbers i thought were pretty amazing. I saw in the post gazette the other day the tv viewing numbers (how many households tuned in for games) for the local sports teams. The Penguins were #1 (in the nhl). The steelers were #2. And the Pirates were # 15 !! I thought this was unbelievable due to the teams performance. Even the current weakened fanbase is still better than some teams which are at .500.

It makes you really wonder how things would be rockin if this teams gets to playing .500 ball. I think these numbers should provide a lot of hope to those who think that the fanbase is dead. Believe me if they start winning, the pirates will move up a bunch of spots im sure. Maybe the front office should check out these numbers, so they see that if the team wins people will come and there will be more money.

BTW, i also saw some roster salary numbers for different teams. Im amazed that San Francisco is spending around 120 million these days! Also, the "small market" Twins arent small market anymore with a roster salary over 100 million. Pretty amazing these days how so many teams are spending 8o million or more.
