I'm not sure what the Ciriaco recall means, given that Wood needs a roster spot, but maybe they're just giving Wood a couple days to report, and then they'll send Ciriaco back down. Obviously, I made my opinion on this pretty clear yesterday. Ultimately, though, this isn't a big deal, and the loss of Josh Rodriguez won't keep me up nights. But I really doubt that someone with strike-zone issues as severe as Wood's will ever pull it together. That's not typically the sort of issue that a change in coaching can easily fix. I hope Wood and the Pirates' coaching staff prove me wrong.
