Well, all of the hubbub about Lastings is for not.  He was designated for assignment today to make room for a reliever.  It doesn't say much for his career that he got sent down for a reliever.  The Sox came north with 11 pitchers, so maybe this was to be expected.

Through six games, had one hit, a double.  Giving him a solid 250/250/500 line.  That's an elite defensive outifleder with a 750 OPS, and upside.  Maybe we should take a look.

Just like LaRoche, I wish him luck.  In reality, that kid is toast.  So long, and thanks for the fish.
