The Pirates have released Tom Boleska and activated Brian Leach, which is slightly surprising, because Boleska always put up solid numbers before this year. He got off to a bad start this season, with 11 strikeouts and 12 walks in his first 16.2 innings, and that was it. Oh well. Boleska has never been regarded as a top prospect, the Bucs have always liked Leach's arm, and I suppose there haven't been a lot of underachievers on the Curve's pitching staff this year.
