Jonathan Mayo polled a handful of scouts, and nine thought the Bucs would pick Gerrit Cole. Three took Anthony Rendon, and two took Danny Hultzen. Then they were asked who they would take and Hultzen got the most votes, with four. This looks like a really bad year to have the No. 1 overall pick in the draft. Mayo also reports that the Pirates' three top candidates are Rendon, Cole and Hultzen, although it's unclear where he got that.
