With Buster Posey out for the rest of the year, it would seem that the first-place Giants are now in a position where they could use Ryan Doumit and his pretty decent .272/.337/.446 line. I don't imagine they'd offer much more than a couple C prospects, though. Since he has actually provided some decent value this year, is that a trade worth making? Would the yinzers interpret it as a "giving up on the season" move? With draft pick compensation possibly ending with the next labor agreement, it probably makes no sense to hang on to him.
