Cubs 3, Pirates 2: Bucs Lose Rain-Delayed Game

Stay connected for news and updates

The Pirates couldn't complete their sweep of the Cubs Sunday afternoon/evening, losing 3-2. Lyle Overbay had a two-run double in the first, but Aramis Ramirez's solo homer and Koyie Hill's sacrifice fly in the second tied the game, and Starlin Castro's sacrifice in the third proved to be the go-ahead run. Ryan Doumit left the game with an ankle injury on the run scored on the Hill sacrifice.

Jeff Karstens allowed three runs, two earned, in five innings, striking out four and walking none.

The Pirates head to New York to face the Mets in a series that begins tomorrow night.
