Mike Aviles

Following the call up of prospect Mike Moustakas, the Royals sent down Mike Aviles. He is far from young, 30 years old, but still is a great guy to have on the bench. He plays in several positions, including short, but out of his 55 games started in the field he has only played 3 at ss.

His numbers are nothing to be proud of, going .213 with 5 hr and 30 RBI in 168 ab. However, he does have good power, almost a right handed version of Garret Jones, and drives in many runners. He isnt an everyday player, but could share playing time with Ronny Cedeno.
