The trip so far
I visited Nationals Park on Wednesday night and watched the Nats throttle the Cardinals (who I suppose we now have to view as a rival for the division lead... Go Nats! (heh-heh, I said "gonads"...)). It was 10-0 and it really wasn't that close. Michael Morse hit a couple bombs - one of which wasn't too far from where I was sitting in the left field bleachers - and Albert Pujols looked pretty awful at 3B. He had two errors in the game and a couple other throws that required some yeoman's work from Berkman. I didn't get to explore the stadium very much because I was there with a couple friends from the area who I hadn't seen in several years, but I'll be going back two weeks from today when the Pirates are in town.
Yesterday, I drove to Charleston to see the WV Power. Just as a disclaimer, I have little to no scouting skills, so take that into consideration for the rest of this paragraph. Colton Cain was pitching and he looked fairly effective - he didn't dominate, but I didn't see more than 2 or 3 very hard-hit balls off of him. Drew Maggi had some good ABs that led to a couple hits. Rojas made one very nice running catch on a blast that looked to surely be over his head - he also added a stolen base at some point. The game was called in the 7th due to rain, but I enjoyed the Toast Man and some of the other local flavor...
After today, the next five days will all involve the Bucs or their affiliates (Cleveland, Altoona, State College - where Allie will apparently be starting - and then Pittsburgh for back-to-back games). I'll do my best to relay some of my experiences when I have time. Until then, Go Bucs!

Sorry about your experience at DuClaw. I’ve never heard of them, so I looked at their site. IMO, any microbrewery that doesn’t have a solid IPA as a staple can’t be great. Thanks for the tip. I won’t waste my time trying them. Plenty of other good mb’s in the area. Hope you have better luck with the brews at the ’mistake by the lake."
Oh, and hope you get to see more good ball too.
In Cleveland,
find your way to the Great Lakes B.C. mothership. Good food and, if you’re lucky, blackout stout on tap, though that’s probably the winter seasonal.
Happy trails.
