Pujols out 4 to 6 weeks
Sorry to see this. Obviously this affects all of the NL Central, as
The Cardinals now have yet another hole in their lineup due to injury--a three-time MVP sized hole.
It makes the injury situation of the Pirates look benign (knocking on wood). Look at this disabled list. It's scary.
| Albert Pujols | 1B |
| Eduardo Sanchez | RP |
| Allen Craig | LF |
| Gerald Laird | C |
| Nick Punto | 2B |
| David Freese | 3B |
| Bryan Augenstein | SP |
| Adam Wainwright | SP |
And Holiday just got back. I can't imagine the Cards competing for long without Albert.
| Evan Meek | RP |
| Chris Snyder | C |
| Ryan Doumit | C |
| Steve Pearce | 1B |
| Joe Beimel | RP |
| Pedro Alvarez | 3B |
| Mike Crotta | SP |
| Ross Ohlendorf | SP |
| Kevin Hart | SP |
Of course it's amazing that the Pirates are still not dead last with all of their injuries. But there is no one named Pujols on their disabled list. Or on their team, for that matter. Does anyone know when Pearce, Alvarez, and Doumit are supposed to be back?

Cards list is getting a little shorter.
Augenstein is on rehab at Memphis, and Freese is supposed to start his this week.
Listening to the NH Show yesterday…
Doumit and Pearce out until late July to early August.
Did not mention JJ, Hart, Orhlendorf, or Snyder.
On Alvarez, he said possibly early July he could start a minor league rehab…. He was not overly optimistic talking about Pedro’s return. NH mentioned that it is very important that he watches his nutritional intake since he is not working out and burning calories…. MMmmm

The Pedro comment wasn't out of the blue, though
He was asked directly about Pedro’s weight, and he responded that he has to watch nutrition now that he can’t exercise. He also mentioned that Pedro was doin very well in this aspect and that it wasn’t a problem.

So according to a lot of people on here...
we should probably trade Alvarez for Pujols while he’s hurt and his stock is a bit down.
Id take Pujols over Overbay!
As in meaning Ill take a one arm swinging Pujols over two armed Overbay!

Heck, me too!
Overbay needs 4 arms so he can swing two bats at the same time. Maybe he could get some hits then.
