Cory Giger of Altoona Mirror writes about trading Marte....

"The long-suffering fans deserve at least that much. And if it means giving up a Double-A prospect, even one as good as Marte, then so be it."

Can we all slow down here just a bit.  We are having a good season for once in 18 years but we need to focus on the future and not the present.  Many long-suffering fans, we would hope, would like to see a more seasons like this one be the norm than placing all of our chips on the table this year.

Common sense people.  While it has been more than enjoyable to watch the Buccos this year, we have to temper it slightly in looking at the broad picture.  The pitching has been really good but sustaining for the remainder of is really going to be a reach.  Hitting has been so so and we have bats coming off the DL so I just don't see messing with the future of this organization unless it is a deal that we simply can't say no too.

Bottom line, a season that we are having should be the norm not a one year wonder.  Look at Minnesota and St. Louis for example.  Year in, year out they play winning baseball without mortgaging a season for "the long-suffering fans".
