Hey so...47-43 at the break. Awesome, right? I don't have any trade speculation or reasons we should dump Overbay, Diaz or Alvarez (why does anyone feel that way, anyways?), just a little bit of math.

The Pirates only need 35 wins in the second half to break the streak. That's it! 35. It seems like such a miniscule number compared to the usual Buccos disaster year. And it even seems eminently doable. Whether the team stands pat or goes for the gusto, whether they come out of the break swinging or stumble down the stretch, I really do believe the laughingstock Pirates are gone. And that makes me very, very happy.
