Gene Collier says the time is now for Pedro Alvarez to start earning his $6 million dollar bonus, and I'm inclined to agree. Look, I love Indianapolis...lived there for many years. But Pedro didn't sign with the Indianapolis Indians...he was signed to mash balls over the Clemente wall. Are they trying to fix a problem that should have been fixed in Bradenton? If so, shame on the team. Is Pedro a head case? If so, shame on Pedro...time to pull up the big boy pants and do what you agreed to do when you signed on the line that is dotted. Can't be physical, because he is raking in AAA. I don't give a rat's patoot about trading for a first baseman. We don't need a trading partner to have Alvarez on the 25-man roster by 3pm today. I suspect they're hoping to salvage 1 game against the Cards and activate him for the roadie to let him get his feet under him away from the unrealistic expectations of a sold-out PNC crowd. OK, fine. Sunday it is. But not one day later.
