Some under-the-radar type guys
We've head about Beltran and Pence. We've seen the Bucs linked to Willingham, but what some of these other guys... Jason Giambi has 10 homeruns this year. 7 of them are away from Coors field. He has an OPS of .964 away from Coors. He won't cost much in terms of money or prospects. He is crushing right handed pitching to the tune of 8 hrs and an OPS of 1.027. Obviously he is older, 40, and won't play every day. I think he is somebody that would add some pop to our bench and lineup. Chris Davis has absolutely destryed AAA pitching for Texas. His OPS is over 1.200 and he has 24hrs and 39 total XBH in just 193 abs in AAA. He was recently recalled. He's a 1B that is blocked and is very young, so obviously he would cost more than a rental. Of course there is also the guy that is blocking him, Mitch Moreland. He's 25, Davis is 24, and he's currently putting up an OPS of .757 with 12 hrs and 26 XBH in 296 abs. The biggest issue with dealing with the Rangers is that Beltre went down and they are using Davis at 3b. I've been mentioning Ryan Ludwick for a couple of months now, and I've noticed that Charlie is on him too. Ludwick is currently sporting a .685 OPS but he does bring pop into the lineup. He has 11 hrs (5 at home, 6 away from Petco), and has 28 XBH in 361 abs. Ludwick and Giambi would be the cheapest, but obviously Morehouse and Davis would be the most valuable.
