I'm new to Bucs Dugout, but I've been a Pirates fan ....

all my life. I was born in Pittsburgh, but  at nine years old can remember being at recess on the playground of Queen of Heaven school in Albuquerque (where I still reside), hearing of Maz's homer to win it all. So being as old as I am, I've been through the thick and thin of being a Pirates fan, and am just so happy for my really old dad, for all of the Pirates fans wherever they are, and for myself that the Pirates again matter.

Related to all of that, and more specifically Pedro Alvarez, I wonder if his struggles reflect something as simple as needing perscription glasses. I know that as a teenage ballplayer, for me they made a huge positive impact. Yes, I know he hit well at Indy, but with glasses maybe even 50 point higher.

Anyway, everyone's thoughts? And go Bucs!!
