well there have been some guys who come up or get drafted that have great mechanics and are still plauged by arm and throwing motion related injuries.
the bottom line is throwing a baseball in and of itself is an unnatural act and puts stress on the shoulder area to begin with, throw in curves and sliders, now your adding stress not only to the shoulder but to the elbow forearm and wrist as well. pitchers are hit and miss, more so then position players.

This stiff front leg is probably the scariest thing for me. Some of the other stuff there has to be margin for error on depending on exactly when you pause the film to check. I’m sure they’re being as precise as possible, but the whole shoulder abduction calculation is all about exactly when you press “pause” in the delivery and exactly when you determing stride foot contact.
Isn't his delivery
supposed to be more “cleaned up” than when he was in high school? I know when he was drafted in 08, they said that his command was all over the place because of his delivery, if I’m not mistaken, and that he’s improved that weakness, at least to some degree.
Since I know NOTHING about pitching mechanics, are these things that can be altered to lessen the risk of him getting injured or would they require massive overhauls of his delivery? I just ask because I guess the Rockies scrapped Matzek’s delivery and he’s a freakin mess right now.
