Minor League Open Thread: Robbie Grossman Draws 100th Walk

Stay connected for news and updates

There's a Steelers preseason game tonight, but it's a quiet day for the Pirates, so here's a minor-league thread.

Sean Gallagher and Indianapolis host Louisville at 7:05 PM.

New Hampshire crushed Altoona earlier today, 11-2. New Hampshire's Nestor Molina struck out nine batters in five innings in his second Class AA start, and Anthony Claggett and Tim Alderson allowed nine runs in relief of Aaron Pribanic for the Curve. (Alderson's nifty start to the season seems like a long time ago, doesn't it?)

Nate Baker starts for Bradenton against Charlotte at 7:00 PM.

Jameson Taillon starts for West Virginia against Delmarva at 7:05.

State College is on the road against Hudson Valley, and Trent Stevenson, who was sent back to short-season ball in late July, will start. He has just four strikeouts in his first 18 innings there. Pirates 37th-rounder Rodarrick Jones made his State College debut yesterday.

Everybody's favorite Lithuanian teenage pitcher, Dovydas Neverauskas, took the loss in a (presumably?) rain-shortened GCL game and the GCL Jays.

UPDATE 10:22 PM: Robbie Grossman walked for the 100th time this season, and also his 11th homer, for Bradenton tonight.
