Our 2006-2009 1st rd picks

Wanted to see how Pedro was doing since he was returned to AAA, not very good, just continued with what he was doing with the Bucs, 3 for 25, 1-xbh a double, 0 rbi, 4BB's, 10K's. It got me thinking about what the team would look like if our 1st round picks from those years actually looked like early 1st round picks. Players from these drafts should be the foundation for the team right now and should be rising stars but instead we have got very little from them. Lincoln was taken at 4, following him were 5- Brandon Morrow, 7- Kershaw, 10- Lincecum, 11- Sherzer, and 21- Ian Kennedy. Moskos also at 4, followed by, 5- O's starting catcher, 9- Jarrod Parker, 10- Bumgarner, 14- Heyward, and 15- Mesoraco. Alvarez at 2, followed by, 3- Hosmer, 5- Posey, 16- Lawrie and 18- Ike Davis. Sanchez at 4, followed by, 6- Wheeler, 7- Minor, 8- Leake, 9- Jacob Turner, 13- Grant Green, 19- Shelby Miller and 25- Trout. Now I realize hindsight is 20-20 and at the time some players would be considered stretches where we picked but some fell for other reasons and were discussed as early picks. Just imagine if we had Kershaw, Weiters, and Hosmer as rising stars and Wheeler or Turner right behind them on their way. These are the players that added with Cutch, Tabata and Walker, should be the core of the team moving forward and shrink the gap between the major league talent and all the young players in the low minors. Now the gap seems like the grand canyon, and the core moving forward is few instead of many, and now the waiting for Taillon and Cole and Allie and Bell begins. I'm not saying we would have taken any of those guys if there was a re-draft, but just imagine if we did. At the time of each draft, who did you want the Bucs to take and where is that player now? In between all those hits, there still were a lot of misses.
And idk why some players are tagged and some aren't.
