The Pirates shut out the Cardinals today, with Brad Lincoln taking down Chris Carpenter. Lincoln allowed six hits in six innings while striking out four and walking one. Dan McCutchen and Chris Resop did the rest. That's two straight effective starts for Lincoln.

Meanwhile, the Bucs' offense piled up seven runs. Josh Harrison had an RBI single in the second, and then the Bucs got four runs in the fourth. Andrew McCutchen kicked off the inning with a double, and then Neil Walker walked. Garrett Jones then knocked in one with a double, and then Harrison had a two-run single. Lincoln then helped his own cause with an RBI double of his own. Walker had a solo homer in the fifth, and then McCutchen knocked in Lincoln (who had reached on a walk) with a single in the sixth.
