Brad Lincoln

What's up you guys? Wanted to start a post on Brad Lincoln, who was impressive in his start this past weekend. My thoughts are that Brad Lincoln is actually ready to be a contributing major league starter and I'm thinking that he's primed for a breakout season next year. A quick glance at his numbers the last three years in AAA suggest improvement. His FiP has gone from 3.85 in 09 to 3.65 in 10 to a very good 3.02 this year before being brought up. It seems as though Lincoln should benefit from a major league defense. On top of that, i enjoy watching him pitch with that great curveball and the fact that he can swing the stick! Career OPS of 781! that'd be one of the better hitters on our team haha. What do you guys think?! Also we need a new nickname for him, how about "Dishonest Brad"? instead of Honest Abe? I dont know Brad Lincoln seems like a crappy dude and his facial hair is rather villainous looking

agreed

I too think Lincoln should be in the starting rotation next year, and is ready for a breakout season. You’d like to see his K/9 numbers be higher in AAA, but other than that he’s put up some good numbers. Numbers very similar to Brandon Morrow (drafted one selection after Lincoln in 06) who many people (myself included) thought would have a breakout season this year, and has top of the rotation stuff. I expect to see Lincoln put up some impressive numbers the rest of the way this year, and be in the starting rotation out of ST next year. As mentioned his ERA of 4.19 and FiP of 3.02 this year suggests he’s pitched much better than at first glance…

As for a nickname how about BLT (not Bacon Lettuce Tomatoe but Brad Lincoln Time?)

nice

BLT i like it! We could come up with a funny ‘white’ person nickname too because Brad Lincoln is such a country club name haha. What i actually expect to a lesser degree is sort of the ‘breakout’ that Charlie Morton experienced. He was always a good stuff, good FIP guy with terrible results at the ML level. I think the defense is vastly improved here over AAA and Lincoln should see that ERA get more in line with his FiP the rest of this year and next. It is seriously more refreshing than ice cold gatorade after marathon too to have a pitcher that isn’t clueless with the baseball bat

Brad Lincoln has really been impressive

in his 2nd cup of coffee in the majors. If he can carry that through September then I see a rotation of…..

Morton, J-MacK, Karstens, Lincoln, Ohlendorf/Correia/random FA for 2012
