Ok so I will be the first to say that this isn't coming from a reputable baseball sight, but the guy does occasionally break some good stuff in other sports, so he apparently has some legit contacts within the Pittsburgh sports scene. Anyways, I don't know if the link will lead you to a pay area or not, so I'll sum up. According to this guy:
The Pittsburgh Pirates have been in touch with the family of Josh Bell plenty of the last several days. The family has been receptive to hearing what the Pirates have to say, and the Pirates are optimistic that they can sway him to sign a deal. A source told him that they're willing to offer a deal in excess of $4.25 million dollars to Bell.
Like I said, take this for what it's worth, but it could be positive news. Here's hoping, anyways.
