I always read this blog but rarely post.  I thought I would give my observations after just coming home from the game.  First a friend of mine gave me tickets right behind the Pirates dugout and I must say despite the losing the players are very classy with the fans.  My kids were all decked out in Pirate gear and Derrick Lee, Brandon Wood, and Ryan Ludwig all gave my kids baseballs.  The Pirates looked more athletic than the Diamondbacks but obviously something is wrong again with the Pirates.  It is pretty bad when your only hit until the ninth inning is by your pitcher.  Also the third base coach just can not get things right.  Presley may have made a in the park home run ( I have no problem holding him); however on Walkers grounder he should have easily scored as the first baseman completely muffed the ball.  What is it with 3rd base coaches and the Pirates?  Anyways I just can't help loving the Pirates despite themselves and thought people might enjoy the comments.  Also the players really do care, Walker was really pissed as the game ended and slammed his hand against the padded rail when the game ended.  Doumit also looked very upset at his at bat. Tons of Pirate fans at the game despite the record, our fans really do deserve more; hopefully soon.
