Firsties on Lasties?

A win tonight, and the Bucs
conclude September with an 11-15 mark. That record would match April’s record. May was 13-13, June 16-11, July 13-13, and August was the dreadful 8-22.
August also featured 30 games in 31 days, which made the task of overcoming injuries even more difficult. In all, seven Bucs spent a portion of August on the disabled list.
anyone hear about Gerrit Cole's pitching today?
pitched 4 shutout innings, was hitting 99 on the gun. velocity increased in the 4th inning!!!

Hart had to slide to make the catch, and it popped out of his glove.
Paul broke back to first upon seeing the ball hit Hart’s glove, and so they forced him at second.

Don't we have runners

If Locke keeps giving up HRs to the Brewers
He’ll fit right in with the rest of our rotation in 2012.

Is it a sin to hope
that Fielder suffered a major quad pull or abdominal strain in that rundown? The only bad part was at the end, Ronny was not particularly attentive to the runner still at first.
What does that mean?!
Well...
a little harsh…

Hmm
Based on the line score, maybe I shouldn’t have turned off the radio when Tim said, “And things are falling apart for Locke here.”
It would be nice to finish with a win for so many reasons – avoid 90 losses, take a series in Milwaukee, hurt their playoff hopes….
Don’t know if I’ll drop back in, but if not, happy offseason, everybody. rest assured, I’ll be around to argue with Vlad in whatever threads do appear.

Marlins go to the postseason next year under Ozzie Guillen.
Pirates set tee times for early October.

Martinez had ran for Howard the previous AB...
and remained in the game defensively. Don’t know what they are saving Bowker for. Medlen is RH.
I can't believe I'm rooting for the Cards
But as a natural-born Mets fan, I hate Atlanta more than I hate the Brewers.
That was ALL
on JJ there.
Egad.
And it was Lucroy stealing his 2nd base of the season. The catcher.

y'know, if he could even fake SS
Harrison becomes a pretty interesting Super UT.
All he does is slap singles, but that’s not a bad skill for a PH.
I have this giant fear that we will see D’Arnaud, Jay Hay and Ciriaco at SS and McKenry and JJ behind the plate
Psht.
Harrison will be busy starting at third.
…just kill me now.

I know they are saving him for the post season
But if I am the Yankees, I think I would have brought in Mo Rivera to make sure I don’t have to play a hot Rays team over a crumbling Sox squad in the playoffs.
And that folks
is why you don’t run on Paul’s arm. Beautiful throw. Just wish it would have come with more on the line tonight.
Why should this AB
be any different than any other?

Sorry this year didn't go better for you guys
But good to see you looking at things the right way. You guys are on a definite upswing here.
The Brewers at Miller Park: "ALL WE DO IS WIN, WIN, WIN NO MATTER WHAT"
The Brewers on the road: See above
Same Old Pirates.

Gentlemen
It’s been a crazy, exhilarating, heartbreaking season.
Thanks to each of you for sharing the madness and making it all a little more palatable.
hell of a summer boys
i got Feb 18th circled on my calendar
I still call this season really good improvement
There’s still work to be done, but the end of this season is a disappointment. Last season it was almost a mercy that the season ended and they couldn’t lose any more.
Don't understand New York's strategy of
using pitchers in this game, especially after they took the big lead. Now it’s coming back to bite them in extra innings.

The Yankees used their
pitching staff tonight like it was the all-star game. Understandable the game meant nothing to them in the standings, but the Yankees were in danger of using pitchers they didn’t wish to use had this game gone any further. Rays did them a favor by pulling out the win when they did.
