Well, it's not like Hanrahan's never blown a save

And Theo understands that the Sox didn’t miss the playoffs because Papelbon had one bad night, they missed the playoffs because they went 7-20(!) in September. Really an amazing collapse all the way around.

No, but Papelbon has been getting worse over the past few seasons. And they’ve been grooming Bard to be his replacement, but Bard has shown signs of struggling lately as well.

at this point i wouldnt do Hanrahan+ for Lowrie

I’m convinced Lowrie is another of those guys who’s going to be hurt a lot of the time. And even though he can mash, it’s hard to say when those injuries will take their toll on the hitting… that said, if the + was filler, I d be OK i suppose. Still, I feel like we can get a high ceiling player that is less ready for Hanrahan.
