Obligatory "Who Are You Rooting For in October" Fanpost

Well, another regular season's come and gone, and after a remarkably dramatic final night, the postseason matchups are set.  Let's pause for one moment and appreciate the irony that just as Bud Selig tells us a second wild card will "create more drama," this last awesome night of baseball (three great games with huge playoff implications) . . . wouldn't have meant anything with a second wild card.

Anyway, now that we've said goodbye to our Pirates for another summer, it's always fun to take a quick poll around BD and see who everyone's pulling for in the postseason.

Personally, at this point I'd like to see Detroit win the WS.  I like Verlander and Leyland, and the fans haven't had much to cheer about up there for a while.  Mostly, though, I just find them the least objectionable.  If not them, I hope Tampa Bay represents the AL. I can't root for the Yanks, and Texas got a chance last year.

The NL is even harder for me.  I generally pull for all Pennsylvania teams, but the Phillies are on their way to becoming the Yankees of the NL.  I can't stand the Brewers or the Cardinals, though, so I guess by default I'll sort-of root for Philly and Arizona. Even though I'm much more of an NL fan, I'd rather see the Tigers or Rays win than any of the NL teams.

Who would you guys like to see win, and why?  Vote and explain in the comments.

UPDATE, 10/5:  Well, a full 43% percent of us are now disappointed as Tampa becomes the first team to exit stage left.  And Detroit, our other pick, faces a tough game 5 matchup back in NYC.  Just goes to show that being a Pirates fan is rough even when you're rooting for other teams.
