When I first came across BucsDugout I was thrilled there were actually other Bucs fans out there. I decided to try and write a post of my own. I was scared. I was all alone with a limited vocabulary. I was Pirates
21 back then, kentkekulve, primetime99, fatbastard and senatorblutarsky would follow. I wrote a Post about how we should trade for Melky Cabrera
. He was only 26, with a good arm, I thought he would fit in nice in Rightfield. BAM! I was labeled an idiot for posting such an idea. People came at me like bees to a hedger!
So I drowned my sorrows in a quart of Cherry Garcia. Back to the drawing board. So I researched the minors and my next Post was to trade for Lars Anderson
and Josh Reddick
. Bam! Now I was expecting a better response this time. But the insults came from all directions. Now I'm not a smart man. I can't hide it. Still the way I was verbally attacked to me seemed uncalled for. So I continued to post about Lars and Charlie warned then banned me from BucDugout, over and over again.
There seems to be an elite list of posters here that think they are the end all to baseball knowledge. They are quick to be critical of others, anyone who disagrees with them is simply a troll. These same people chat during gamethreads. One minute Cedeno gets a double. They respond with things like RONNIE! or Way to Go! Then a few innings later he makes an error and it's more like" HE Sucks! Call up D'Arnaud! He's freakin pathetic! Is this what being a Pirate fan is all about?
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of the managing editor (Charlie) or SB Nation. FanPosts are written by Bucs Dugout readers.
