Astros 4, Pirates 1

Stay connected for news and updates

Humberto Quintero, Jimmy Paredes and Brett Myers combined to beat the Bucs 4-1 before an incredibly tiny crowd at PNC Park. The Pirates, as has been all too typical recently, did almost nothing offensively, with their only run coming on a solo homer by Ryan Doumit. Myers had six strikeouts and no walks in 7.2 innings.

Brad Lincoln pitched pretty well himself, with six strikeouts and no walks of his own, but he allowed two runs in the second. The Pirates' bullpen gave up two more as Quintero dropped a two-run single into left-center. Paredes had three hits and scored two runs.
