Alex Dickerson ranked #9 in Mayo's Top 10 1B Prospects
I'm kinda surprised to see him in the top 10 out of all MLB's 1B prospects. Might be a little generous, but hey I'm not complaining.

Pleasant Surprise
Also shows how shallow 1B is in the minor leagues.

Part of the problem is that it’s just guys who are 1Bs now, and doesn’t include guys who project as 1Bs on the ML level but are currently being tried at more difficult defensive positions (like Pedro). Since anybody can play 1B to one degree or another, all hitting prospects are in that sense viable 1B prospects.
if his back holds up
he will be a Pirate regular by the end of next season.
A+ ball this year with a chance at AA, 2014 sounds about right, unless he goes on a tear this year and is at AAA by mid season next year
Thats what she said! - Michael Gary Scott
nice
would be cool to catch him in a few games in Altoona this summer!

He's Not Done Anything Yet
Chances are he doesn’t even make the Maor Leagues.
Long way to go even if he does..
Yes he has done something
Did fairly well in 40 games at State College last year. Almost an 880 OPS.
can't help noticing who was #9 last year
Not actually affiliated with whygavs.

Great list!
It is nice to see write ups of all of the names that we have talked about since the end of last year.
Read the last paragraph
Sounds familiar…

Familiar, yes
but nautical themes alone aren’t a good enough tell. The rest of the article is too well written for it to be the same person IMO.
maybe he got the dragon software for x-mas

It's the "apology" part
that caught my eye.

good catch
why would a new poster say that snarky finish.

Off season sux.
I’ve suggested that Charlie take a look at the IP address, but apparently, our intrepid pirats21/primetimeetc. has used multiple IP’s in the past.
It ain’t easy being Charlie.

not an impressive list
using my THT Forecasts, Singleton is the only one who projects to be an average or above MLB 1b, peak 2 WAR, 369 wOBA, 283/369/477. Next level is Cron, Rizzo, Alonso around 1 WAR, 340’s wOBA. I have some faith Cron can improve that this year. Then Adams & Dickerson. I project Dickerson 268/323/448, or very close to GFJones. All those guys should see some MLB playing time, but may struggle to keep a starting job, especially on a good club. Parmelee, Soro and Marrero below replacement.

How far down the road are those projections?
The glare of the spotlight is harsh, and the pressure that success breeds immense. We revere our heroes, but expect much. And criticism can come as easily as praise.
