Project Prospect: Pirates farm system 8th
That, by far and large, is the highest rated system Pirate fans have seen all offseason. In addition:
Jameson Taillon 11th
Gerrit Cole 18th
Josh Bell 54th
Starling Marte 88th

Yeah
I’ve been discussing that in a Blue Jays forum this morning.
My system is geared toward star talent that has played in full-season leagues and MLB-ready prospects. The Blue Jays have some high-upside guys on the way, but what they have in the upper minors doesn’t excite me as much. My methodology makes my system conservative toward the types of guys who happen to be their biggest strength. They could easily take a big jump forward so me next year.

I don't know enough about the other orgs
but 11 seems low for the Cards, and 16th def low for Toronto- I dont like the Toronto system as much as some, but it’s still a good system.
This could be...
…a reflection of where I stand on Carlos Martinez. I don’t like him nearly as much as some people. I see a guy who has a pretty good chance of settling in as a RP, where he could be dominant but would also have limited upside. I also don’t like Zack Cox at all.

fair enough
the Cards do have a ton of depth behind the Miller/Martinez/Jenkins/Cox top. If you don’t like those guys that much, I could see it drop…
