One year, $1.1 million, so ... a lot less than I wanted the Pirates to pay him. My opinion that Cedeno is a useful player hasn't really changed, though, and it's surprising to me that a relatively young player who has posted WARs of 1.4 and 1.1 in the past two seasons would get so little. It would be really strange if the Pirates signed a utility infielder to a major-league contract at this point, because they would almost certainly get a worse one than Cedeno, while paying about the same amount the Mets are now paying.
