Red Sox Sign Aaron Cook

I don't think we had heard anything about Aaron Cook since the Erik Bedard signing, but since some Pirates fans are becoming a little bit vigilant about Clint Hurdle turning the Pirates into Colorado East, I thought I'd mention that Cook is off the market. You can breathe a sigh of relief. As much as some small part of me dies every time pitchers like Cook or Vicente Padilla are connected to the Pirates, though, these would not be bad additions at the minor-league level, given the Pirates' circumstances. The Bucs are probably going to need guys who aren't currently in their rotation to soak up a bunch of starts. The more choices they have in Spring Training, the better.
