Gerrit Cole lands at No. 3 on Baseball America's list of the top prospects in the Eastern League, behind Manny Machado (who, of course, is in the playoffs right now) and Zack Wheeler. Jameson Taillon didn't pitch enough for Altoona to qualify for the list.

Altoona wasn't exactly flush with prospects, so the only surprise here, and it's a mild one, is that Vic Black didn't make it. One would think that a pitcher with his stuff and strikeout rate might land somewhere near the bottom of the list, even though he's a reliever.
