Well, you can cross David Ross off the Pirates' list this offseason, but not for the reasons we thought. It looked like Ross would re-sign with the Braves, but instead, he's agreed to terms with the Red Sox on a two-year deal. The financials haven't been reported yet.

Ross was one of the better catchers on the free agent market, but now the Pirates will have to look to other options as they hunt for a backstop to supplement Michael McKenry and Tony Sanchez.
