The Pirates have signed five more minor league free agents in the wake of their signing of Felix Pie.

The Pirates have signed six minor leaguers, one of whom--Felix Pie--we already knew about. The others are right-handed pitchers Brooks Brown, Erik Cordier, David Bromberg, and Luis Sanz, and infielder Alex Valdez. Brown and Cordier, as well as Pie, received spring training invites.

Cordier looks about the most interesting, mainly because he throws hard. Some of the others, especially Valdez, are likely to end up in Altoona, which isn't going to be getting much talent from this year's Bradenton team. Valdez is mainly a corner guy, so he could be the Curve's third baseman.
