The Pirates will make stops throughout the area in mid-December.
The Pirates' Winter Caravan will run from December 11 to December 13. It features stops in Altoona, Johnstown, Charleston, Morgantown, Wheeling, Weirton/Steubenville, Erie, and Youngstown in addition to a number of stops in Pittsburgh and its more immediate environs. It also features a stop in Jamestown, NY, which of course will be at least the temporary home of the Pirates' NY-Penn League affiliate.
Clint Hurdle will make the trip to Jamestown along with Alex Presley, Gaby Sanchez and Josh Harrison. Andrew McCutchen, Jared Hughes and Justin Wilson will be in Pittsburgh, Butler, Indiana, Greensburg and Wheeling. Michael McKenry and Jose Tabata will be in Latrobe, Johnstown, Altoona and elsewhere. And Neil Walker, Pedro Alvarez and Bryan Morris will do most of the West Virginia stops, along with stops in Youngstown and Uniontown.
A.J. Burnett, James McDonald, Wandy Rodriguez, Starling Marte and Garrett Jones don't seem to be involved. Neither is Jeff Karstens, who might be non-tendered.
