Charles LeClaire-US PRESSWIRE
Kevin Correia and the Twins have agreed to terms on a two-year contract. He'll get $10 million, which somehow is even more than he got with the Pirates. Correia would become about the billionth Pirate to follow Ryan Doumit to Minnesota, including Tom Boleska, Jeff Clement, Tim Wood, Eric Fryer and who knows who else.
What does everyone here think about Correia? This isn't a topic we've discussed much on this site! I'm sure, however, we can all agree that it's good his 89-MPH-throwin', chuckin'-the-ball-randomly-in-the-direction-of-the-strike-zone, never-strikin'-out-anyone-at-all act is heading to the American League, because if he were to sign with another team in the N.L. Central, there's no question whatsoever that he'd dominate the Pirates like a six-year-old with a Tootsie Pop, because that's just how it works.
UPDATE: In the comments, znc1 connects this move to the Pirates' decision to non-tender Jeff Karstens. That the Twins would think Correia was worth $10 million while the Pirates didn't think Karstens was worth $4 million is strange indeed. I remain interested in how the Pirates will replace Karstens, but his non-tender still doesn't make any sense to me.
