MLB Network talks Justin Upton to Pirates trade.

Before you get excited about the prospect of having Upton, the trade was pretty crazy and not well thought out. One of the hosts said Upton should go to the Rangers for Cruz and Mike Olt. The other argued that he should go to the Pirates for Tallion, Alvarez and perhaps another minor league pitcher to get the deal done. A couple of minutes later he said Allie should be the guy thrown in to complete the deal. Not that Upton wouldn't be great to have in our outfield, but this really makes little to no sense for the Pirates to do this. 3B has become a position that many teams need. The Pirates are riding the Alvarez roller coaster, but if he went via trade, what would they do to fill that position? Then you take one of your future front end starters and ship him as well in order to get a great player, although it is at a position where the Pirates have talent lined up in the minors. It just doesn't make a lick of sense to make that trade, I hope he just thought it up himself and didn't have an inside source feeding him.
