John Perrotto reports that the Tigers would deal outfielder Brennan Boesch for Joel Hanrahan, but they will not trade Rick Porcello for him.
I'm sure the Tigers would also trade Bobby Higginson, Nate Cornejo, Warren Morris and Hiram Bocachica if they could, which is just super-generous of them, but the Pirates would have absolutely zero use for a 27-year-old outfielder who put up a -1.3 WAR this year, so you can put this in the category of "things that will never happen in a million years." I'm not even sure how rumors like this get started.
The juicier tidbit here is that the Tigers won't trade Porcello for Hanrahan. Again, though, there wasn't much reason to expect that they would. Porcello, who doesn't even turn 24 until later this month, would be a nice high-upside addition, but that's too much to expect to get back for Hanrahan.
