ESPN Article on Clemente's Bat




There's an article up on ESPN.com about the search for the bat Clemente used to get his 3,000 hit. It's an interesting article with some good stories about the Pirates from back in the day. It also curiously has a story about how much of a jerk Bonds was which seemed improper and rather out of place.

Not to be overly nerdy but it kind of reminds me of the ongoing story in Don Delillo's Underworld about the quest for Bobby Thompson's home run ball - just a story about a lot of different people and the way this sports artifact interacted with them.
