The Pirates did not take anyone in the major-league portion of the 2012 Rule 5 Draft. The results are here; the Astros took reliever Josh Fields from the Red Sox with the first pick.
HOU:Josh Fields, RHP, (BOS)
CHC:Hector Rondon, RHP, (CLE)
COL:Daniel Rosenbaum, LHP (WAS)
MIN:Ryan Pressly, RHP (BOS)
CLE:Chris McGuiness, 1B (TEX)
MIA:Alfredo Silverio, OF (LAD)
BOS:Jeff Koberbus, 2B (WAS)
NYM:Kyle Lobstein, LHP (TB)
ARI:Starling Peralta, RHP (CHC)
PHI:Ender Inciarte, OF (ARI)
CWS:Angel Sanchez, INF (LAA)
BAL:T.J. McFarland, LHP (CLE)
TEX:Coty Woods, RHP (COL)
HOU:Nate Freiman, 1B (SD)
MIA:Braulio Lara, LHP (TB)
In the Class AAA portion, the Pirates lost infielder Elevys Gonzalez to the Dodgers. You may remember Gonzalez from his 2011 season at Bradenton, in which he hit .322. Despite his strong 2011 performance, he was never particularly highly regarded, and he fell apart completely at Class AA this year.
The Bucs took righty Ethan Hollingsworth from the Royals. He'll be 25 in May and posted mediocre numbers at Class AA Northwest Arkansas and Class AAA Omaha last season. The Royals had acquired him from the A's for stathead favorite Kila Ka'aihue. Hollingsworth isn't really a prospect, but then it's just about impossible to get real prospects in the minor-league portion of the Rule 5 Draft.
